Interview  with    Indesiderium   done  by    Patrick

1.Hello    how  is  life  going  in  California  these days? Please  introduce yourselfs  to  the  readers?

Greetings, I am Atrum of Indesiderium.  I write the music and lyrics as well as perform all vocals and instruments.  Mattias performs all battery and percussion.  As for life in California, I am ready to relocate.  I have been here my whole life, and I have overstayed my welcome.  Mattias has already secured property in the mountains of Oregon; it is only a short time till I too relocate to the mountains.

2.When  did you  first  get  into  metal   music? Who  were  some  of the  first  bands  you   listened to? Who  are  some  of your  current  favorites?

I have been into metal since I was very young.  Started with 80’s albums like Maidens “Number of the Beast,” King Diamond in particular.  I am glad to be old enough to have witnessed the early 90’s black metal movement.  Nothing today captures the magic of those early days of black metal.  So needless to say, my first black metal bands were the obvious Scandinavian hordes, and some early USBM.  Beherit’s “Drawing down the moon” and Impaled Nazarene’s “Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz” were the first black metal albums I ever bought right when they were released.  I have a formidable collection of first press albums from those early days.  As of recently, I have been listening to some devastating war metal from bands such as Ritual Genocide and Defecrator.  I am currently awaiting the debut release from my comrades in UADA “Devoid of Light,” they are an absolute killer horde from the Pacific Northwest.

3.You  formed  Indesiderium     in  2012   what  gave  you  the  idea  to  form  this  band/project?How  did  you  come  up  with  the  name  of the  band?

The band I had been previously been associated with had been plagued with issues and drama since the beginning.  After a few years, it became apparent that I would need to move on eventually.  The hymns on the Wanderer of the Abyssal Plains album were written very long ago.  I have always wanted to use the material, but I never found a band worthy enough to sacrifice them for.  Especially when things go sour, the band keeps your contributions as their own.  Indesiderium has long been in my heart, like a leviathan lurking in the crushing depths of the abyss.  This analogy sums up the entire concept of the name as well.

4.I  believe this  is  a  two man  band  but   have  you  ever  thought  of  trying to  add  more  members  for  a  full band ?

Indesiderium does indeed consist of two members.  This is how we intend to keep the core our legion.  However, I have an infernal line-up ready for the upcoming live rituals.  Demons of the highest order.

5.If  you   had the  opportunity  to  work  with  any  musicians who  are  some  musicians{past  or  present}  you  would  like  to  work  with?

Jon from Dissection is the first to come to mind.  But that is probably it.  I would rather work alone.

6.Indesiderium  just  released  their  debut  cd  "Wanderer  Of   The  Abysmal  Plains"   how  long  did  it   take  to  write  and  record  the  songs  for  this release?

There was a lot of blood and pain put forth into summoning this opus.  I wrote in pure solitude.  It was rehearsed and recorded at our mountain fortress, far away from the plague of humanity.

7.Where  do  you  draw   inspiration   for  the   lyrics  on   "Wanderer Of  The  Abysmal  Plains"?

The inspiration for the lyrics comes from personal experience.  The torment of the human psyche.  I draw inspiration from the inherent evil that is in all of mankind.  What one would call Satan, Lucifer, Belial, the Devil…what every path you choose, it all begins within the very nucleus of your being.  Human consciousness is as vast and lightless as any void imaginable.  It is the void of all voids, and it is a realm where demons dwell.

8.Besides  the  debut   cd   "Wanderer Of  The  Abysmal  Plains"   is  their   any  other   merchandise  available  for  the  fans? If  yes  where  can  the  fans  buy  it?

There are several excellent sources online to obtain the album.  The True Plague distro  (Thetrueplague.com) as well as many other quality underground distros and record shops also carry it.  Shirts are in progress, and the new album is currently being forged.

9.Atrum  Abbas   I  believe  you told  me  that  you  are  working  on  new  music  for the  next release  will  it  be  a  full-length  or  have you  all decided? How   would  you  say the  new  music  is  different  from  the  first  release?

Yes, the new album is about half written thus far.  It is planned to have a total of six tracks, as of now there are three tracks complete.  The music is similar in that there is a fine balance of aggression and atmosphere, but it will different in that the recording will by of a higher quality.  Not overly polished, but not too garage sounding either…in other words, you will be able to make out the instruments.

10.What  does  black  metal  mean  to  you?

Black metal is very personal to me.  It means everything to me.  This is why I cannot stand to see it defaced or disrespected the way it does today.  Nothing is taken seriously anymore, everything is joke these days.  There was a time when black metal was about absolute intolerance.  Nowadays, its all about piece and love and accepting everyone and everything.  Fuck that.  Black metal should be evil and dangerous.  It should be ugly and offensive.  Call me an elitist, in this modern day of poser hipster black metal, I am proud separate from the herd.

11.Atrum  Abbas   you   handle  the  vocals  for  the  band  when  did you  start  singing/screaming? Is their   anything you  do  special to   keep your  throat/voice  healthy?Who  are  some  of your  favorite  vocalists?

This is the first recording where I performed the primary vocals.  I have always performed back-up vocals in bands I have performed in.  As for keeping my voice healthy, I don’t.  I just conjure whatever malice I have inside and transcend into another realm.  I do not have a specific favorite in regards to vocalists.

12.Besides  taking  care   of the  vocals  you   also  play  the  guitars  for the  band. When  did you  get  interested in   playing  the  guitars? Are  you   self taught   or  did you  take  lessons  when  first  starting  out?

I have been playing guitar for approximately twenty years.  I took lessons to learn the basics when I was young, but not for long.  I am self-taught there after.

13.Who   are  some  of your  influences/favorite  guitarists? Besides  playing the bass and  guitars   are their  any other  instruments  you    play?

Guitar inspiration ranges from genre to genre.  Everything from classical nylon to black metal obviously.  I enjoy playing drums, but I am not nearly efficient enough to perform in a band.

14.When  not  writing  music   what  are  some  of your   interests/hobbies?

I am a devoted student of the human mind.  I write and research on everything from consciousness, mental disorders, and neurobiology.  The realms of science and occultism have more in common than most would imagine.  The parallels are uncanny.

15.Thank  you       for   taking  the  time  to   fill  this   interview   out  do you   have  any  final  comments  for  the  readers?

Indesiderium’s “Wanderer of the Abyssal Plains” is out.  The upcoming opus will lay waste to the land. 666

Interview   with  Andreas   guitarist   of  Immensity    done  by     Patrick

1.Hello  Andreas   how  are  things  going  with you  and  the  band  these  days? Please  introduce yourself to  the  readers?

Hello everyone!  thank you for giving me this opportunity to express myself and not just only ! Not   much  to say about myself ! 34 years of age, born on an island in Greece called "Evvoia" from Italian mother and Greek father . Started  to listen and get into to metal music at the age of 15!

2.At  what  age  did you  become  interested  in  playing  the  guitars? Are   you  self taught  or did you  take  lessons  when  first  starting  out?

I attend classes for a few months at the age of 18. But It seemed that I just could not listen to “their” rules,  no one to tell me how and what to do suited me  better,  so I followed my instinct and inner voice along with some vital knowledge in the end.

3. Who  are  some  of your   influences and  favorite  guitarists? Besides the  guitars  do  you  play  any  other   instruments?

Just like many youngsters back then..Metallica ! Also my first attempt  to play "one" or "harvester of sorrow" Oh i was crazy about  Joe Satriani and that's about it. I like playing some piano and synth though.

4.When  did you  first   meet the  other  members  of   the  band? Was  it  long  before you  all decided to  form   Immensity ?

Well it was around late 2010 when i met Leonidas, after a few hours of discussion I understood that this man was on the same page and purpose for what I had in mind musically. The name came after my return from Canada  after of two years of working abroad to earn my living.

5.What  is  the  current  line-up  of  Immensity  and  for the  readers who  have  never  heard    Immensity's  music  how would you  best  describe  it?

Myself  Andreas Kelekis on Guitars / Synth, Leonidas Hatzimihalis on Vocals (clean and brutal), Yiannis Filippaios on Drums, George Kritharis on Bass though currently he's living  far way from Athens . And worth mentioning  a Remarkable  friend of ours  helps  us out as session  with gigs and other needs! Referring to Nikolas Loukopoulos on Bass of course. Chris Markopoulos on Guitars and last but least Nora Koutsouri on Keyboards / Synth.

How I would describe Immensity’s music ?  I’d say  “A sea of numerous moods and emotions“

6.  Immensity   has  signed  to  hypnotic  Dirge  how  did you  all  come  in  contact  with this  great  label?

During the time we were seeking for a label I Just send them a letter along with cd with Album recordings and to make long story short they liked what they heard and sooner  than we could imagine we sealed an agreement. One of the best moves we ever made was surely contacting with Hypnotic dirge.

7.The  new  cd  "The  Isolation  Splendor"  will  be  available  soon  how  long did  it take to  write the  music for this  release? Does  the  whole  band  take  part  in  the  writing  process  or  does  one  member  usually  write  everything?

70% are at least 8 years old material was based on my own ideas. The bandmates helped me a lot to finish the other 30% and the outcome was this wonderful album. For me it is truly  a redemption after so much hard work.

8.Besides  working  in    Immensity   do  any  of the  members  currently  play   in  any  other  bands  or  solo  projects?

Yes of course, our drummer  is playing in a well known band called "Daylight Misery" and also conducts his own amazing band called DECEMBERANCE  in the style of Extreme Doom Death Metal and is in fact One of the oldest bands in Greece.  Also Nikolas Loukopoulos  and Chris Markopoulos are hereby part of DECEMBERANCE as well.
Just about all members were and are in different projects, but mainly , we are focused on Immensity’s  Music which always comes first .

9.  Immensity   comes   out  of  the  Greeek  death, doom  scene  what  is  the  metal  scene like  in  Greece?

I think  in total we  barely reach a handful speaking  strictly  Doom, Death , not much indeed but hopefully increasing  through time .

10. Who  are  some  of your  all-time  favorite  greek  bands? Are their  any   new  bands  you  feel  the readers  should  watch  out  for?

Oh.. SEPTICFLESH, ROTTING CHRIST, EXHUMATION, ON THORNS I LAY...
Concerning  new-ones i would  say SUICIDAL ANGELS, TARDIVE DYSKINESIA, UNIVERSE 217, SHATTERED HOPE

11.Besides  the   new  release "The  Isolation  Splendor"  does  the  band   have   any  other   merchandise   available  for the  readers if  yes  where  can  the  fans  buy  it ?

We are working on this as we speak and planning  to have a full package soon,  we will  surely make some announcements about that.

12.Thank  you   Andreas   for  taking the  time  to  fill  this  interview  out  do you   have  any  final  words  for the  readers?

It was a great pleasure Patrick,
I just want to say : Never give up your dreams , your goals or anything else you want to do in life.  Cheers all , Hope you enjoy the album  !
